Dickens Otieno is a Kenyan artist who is known for his large-scale woven sculptures using scrap metal.

He was featured in the 2022 Kenyan Pavilion of the Venice Biennale.

Otieno studied engineering, but was unable to find work. With scarce resources for art materials, Otieno began experimenting with waste materials.

He originally started making sculptures with bottle caps before moving onto his signature style of weaving tin cans into a metal armature.

UNI-FORM/MULTI-FORM (or mistaken identity) was an exhibition by Roots Contemporary where UNIFORMS expressed role, tasks acceptance and compliance in an organised society.

Did Kenya benefit from the uniformizing of its people?
